OB presentations

I am blogging after a almost two months...

Recently, we had to give presentations on Organizational Behaviour. The basic idea was to apply the boring gyan we had received during the lectures into a role play and present it to the class. This was a group assignment.

My learning group, "Snow White and the Five Dwarfs", was to present an example of incorrect performance appraisals due to various perceptual biases. We were given about 15 days to prepare for this presentation and also prepare the individual write-ups which had to be submitted on the presentation.

So after not adhering to our initial plan of completing this tasks the very next day (after the assignment was given) we woke up with about 5-6 days to spare. After some initially brainstorming and also reading the theory from the textbook (Finally I put the textbook to use) we came up with a raw outline of our skit.

Through the skit, we tried to depict a IT/ITES company and the appraisals being conducted by a Manager for his reports in the project. The skit showcased various cases of biases and how things must not be done. So here is the cast, (all people played themselves in the skit)

Anand D - Manager who conducts the appraisal

Ankita - A Manager of some other project

Anand P - A new lateral hire

Aditya - A employee who puts in hard work

Ajay - Another employee

Yours truly - A employee who puts in hard work but in games :)


Just the night before the "The Day" (23rd Aug 07) at 10pm at night we decided to make a collage. Now instead of writing our individual write-ups, we guys(the 5 dwarfs) sat down to make this collage. Click below for a few snaps of our creativity.

The presentation went off well and we also had the first movers advantage as our was the first presentation in the entire batch.
